Plant-4D spells success for Promaen Piping

Promaen Piping, established in 1990, acts as an independent engineering company providing technical services for the industrial sector. We distinguish ourselves from other firms by our strive for continuous improvement within the organization. Furthermore, our flexible attitude enables us to provide clients with a custom-made package solution.

After several successful try-outs, Promaen Piping started using CEA Systems? Plant-4D for detailed engineering of piping projects. Having used it for over three years, we can no longer imagine working without it. Particularly the possibility to give the customer a 3D preview during the course of the project, the automatic and 100% correct generation of isometrics, material take-offs and bulk lists make Plant-4D a consistent and extremely useful instrument.

By giving a Plant-4D presentation to chemicals and pharmaceuticals giant AKZO NOBEL Engineering, we acquired the order to realize complete detail engineering for a new pharmaceutical factory, to be built in the Netherlands. This project stretches out over a period of approximately eighteen months.

AKZO NOBEL, headquarted in Arnhem, The Netherlands employs about 60,000 employees. AKZO NOBEL Engineering employs some 150 consultants and engineers and owns about 70 facilities. To cooperate with the engineers from AKZO Engineering on this large, complicated, but nevertheless very interesting project was a challenge we both relished.

During the project we made full use of the advantages of Plant-4D software, especially the following items:

Open database to implement programs such as: Excel, Word, Access

Possibility of phased delivery of documents

Presentation of model preview to prevent interface problems with other disciplines

Loading suppliers equipment as attachment to the project by using an x-ref technique

Engineering from a distance by telecommuting

Total consistency with as result great time saving during construction and building

By combining our expertise with the advantages mentioned above, the project had a very successful outcome, of course with thanks to the people at AKZO Engineering.
