RToD
CEA Technology supplies a set of programs called SCADES for designing, optimising and verifying parts of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and columns according to the Dutch Government rules for Pressure Vessels (formally known as the Stoomwezen rules).
Scades is a Windows 32-bit program that enables you to calculate pressure vessels, heat exchangers and columns according to the Rules for Pressure Vessels.
Advantages of Scades are:
- Determining the optimal wall thickness, which will save material
- Windows interface, with graphical possibilities, makes it user friendly
- Alternatives can be calculated in an easy way by changing the input values
- The experience of over 120 users is used to improve the program, users such as; engineering companies, plant owners, supervising authorities, universities and manufacturers
- Both design and verification calculations are possible
- Preventing mistakes by using databases for materials, pipes, flanges, bolting and gaskets
- Calculations according to the D-pages of RToD
- Graphic display of nozzle placement on cylinders, heads and cones
- Input and output can be saved on a project (vessel and component) basis
- Material database according to the M-pages, containing over 1000 materials related to temperature and wall thickness.

Features of these programs are:
an interactive material database containing 1000 materials; a comprehensive report is prepared by the program, suitable for submission to a certifying authority; interactive screen handling which offers the possibility to calculate several alternatives in seconds.

Tees
A graphic program for the analysis of forged branch connections according to the Rules for Pressure Vessels:
- with a material database of 600 materials;
- interactive screen handling and windowing;
- the program generates a scale drawing on which the limit lines of reinforcement, the material and pressure surfaces are clearly shown;
- the branch and the run may consist of different materials;
- possibility to enter the crotch thickness.
Wintees
Wintees is a fully featured calculation application for MS Windows:
- databases with Tees according to ANSI and DIN are included;
- also special shaped Tees geometry's can be calculated;
- a scale drawing is generated on the screen and is part of the report.
Weldolets
A graphic program for the design of weldolets :
- with material database;
- interactive screen handling and windowing;
- the program generates a scale drawing on which the limit lines of reinforcement,
- the material and pressure surfaces are clearly shown;
- user may define his own weldolet database;
- there is a large flexibility of weldolet geometry possible;
- Weldolet database for STD, XS and XXS
Nipple
A graphic program for the design of Nipples:
- with material database and interactive screen handling and windowing;
- the program generates a scale drawing on which the limit lines of reinforcement,
- the material and pressure surfaces are clearly shown;
- A large flexibility of Nipples geometry possible.
Toroidal Bends (D0210)
A program for designing toroidal bends, with use of the known features of SCADES programs:
- for the bend radius user can choose between short, long and user defined R/D ratio
- or input a value of R.
Mitred bends (D0211)
A program for designing mitred bends using all the known features of SCADES.
Bellows (D0901)
A bellow calculation program according to D0901 of the Rules for Pressure Vessels:
- a program for the design and verification of bellows (Simple or Dual);
- the program calculates or verifies the bellows sleeve and the convolution dimensions (ri1; ri2; and h);
- up to 10 loads can be defined for the fatigue analysis of the bellows;
an extensive report of the results is made, suitable for submission to the client and to the authorities for approval.

G0402 Classification of Pressure Vessels
The program enables a quick and accurate establishing of the Rules for Pressure Vessels.
A substance database is part of the program. A comprehensive report is produced.
G0701 Establishing the Hazard Category of a Pressure Vessel.
This program establishes the Hazard Category of the Pressure Vessel according to the Rules for Pressure Vessels: also here the substance database is part of the program;
all calculations are done within the program and a comprehensive report is produced.
Engineering Software for calculation of local stresses on heads and cylinders due to external loads on nozzles.
- Calculation of maximum allowable loads, which gives the possibility to analyse a given situation with an unknown factor (force or moment).
- Both design and analysis mode, creating the advantage to be flexible.
- Allowable stresses according to ASME section I DIV 1 and DIV 2, Codap, BS5500 and Stoomwezen. Now you can calculate according to the material database of the American, French, British and Dutch allowable stresses.
- Stresses due to pressure can be calculated in several ways, giving you a powerful tool to use different methods to calculate pressure stress (e.g. Nominal, Farr and ASME).
- Automatic calculation of stresses at reinforcing pads, no additional calculations necessary.
- Extensive material and piping database, pick a material from the powerful database and the material data will be carried forward into the program.
- User can modify values from the curves, WRC program uses the curves defined by WRC. The user can then modify these values so that user defined calculations are possible.
- Possibility to view the WRC curves/charts
- User-defined load database for standard load cases, a set of load cases can be stored in the program giving the user a fast access to common load cases, which gives uniformity and speed to the calculations.
- Two methods of calculating equivalent stresses (Tresca / Von Mises), making the program usable according to the two equivalent stress methods. This feature will give the user many more possibilities and flexibility.
- A powerful design tool developed by CEA Technology to prevent and safeguard the vessel from being overstressed due to sustained and/or thermal loading from the piping system.
