Project Mowlem successfully completed

Mowlem, established in 1822, has become one of the UK's leading construction and support services groups with an annual turnover of nearly 2 billion and over 20,000 employees worldwide. Our objective is to build and maintain value for our range of stakeholder groups.

At Mowlem Engineering Solutions, we have successfully completed a project for a blue chip client, which made extensive use of our Plant-4D design capability.   Plant-4D is known as a unique data Object-Oriented Plant Design software tool, that can be operated without being restricted to a single CAD platform or Database system.

The industrial project was characterised as a brownfield development with extremely limited space availability, and the use of Plant-4D ensured that optimal plant configuration was quickly established. Plant-4D also enabled us to produce state of the art 2D deliverables and 3D drawings.

Using Plant-4D provided us with a powerful management tool which assisted progress reporting to the client senior management and helped us to highlight issues relating to the design in a format which was very easy to interpret and understand.

Furthermore, Plant-4D offered us a large array of functionality to control the security issues of the project. The project data is stored in a server environment. The program also requires less support than the more conventional Plant Design tools.

The functionality of Plant-4D continues to support our development as we deal with a wide range of clients operating in very diverse market sectors and with varying CAD capabilities.

We have found that Plant-4D's database approach enhances the design process and adds value for the client as well as for us, without the need to procure expensive operating licenses.
