CEA Systems, one of the world's leading providers of plant design solutions, today announced the release of the latest version of their plant design software - Plant-4D Rome. Being the successor of Plant-4D Athena, Plant-4D Rome offers a number of new features and performance enhancements.

Plant-4D Rome is fully compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 operating systems which support the latest versions of servers and workstations. Users of Plant-4D can now start harvesting the benefits of the prominent software performances and advanced features of Windows 7 platforms.

Exciting new features of Plant-4D Rome:

Support both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 OS

The 64-bit version of Plant-4D can only be installed on a 64-bit operating system. The 32 bit version of Plant-4D can be installed on a 32-bit or a 64-bit operating system.

Changes compared to Plant-4D Athena

A number of updates and changes have been made regarding 4D-Explorer, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Plant-4D PID, Plant-4D Pipe, Pisogen, Database, Projects Settings and Component Builder. Elaborations can be found in Plant-4D Rome Release Notes.

New User Interface

4D-Explorer has a more user-friendly and modern look while the classical functions of the previous 4D-Explorer are retained. The new 4D-Explorer is also equipped with the new features - the favorites tree, 20 different layout skins and extended toolbars. Interfaces of Plant-4D About, Plant-4D Login, and Plant-4 D Settings have also been updated.

Compatible with personal Isogen 6.3

Plant-4D Rome supports personal Isogen 6.3.

New Start Application

The Start Application dialog has been rewritten. It detects which CAD engines are installed on your computer. Each version that is supported by Plant-4D can be selected from the Start Application dialog.

New Query Tester

A new tool for executing SQL queries has been made. It is available by right-clicking Databases or Miscellaneous on the System Administration tab.

Advanced Viewer Walk-trough

The walk-trough mode is checked and operational.

Advanced Viewer Search

Because of the missing previews in the 64-bit 4D-Explorer, we have added 'search and zoom' functionality to the Advanced Viewer. If a result is selected in the search bar, the view of the drawing will automatically zoom to the search result. If the search result is deselected, the view is reset. There are also search and redlining buttons added to the toolbars. This way there is easy access to the search and redlining.

New Component Builder

A number of updates have been made to both the 2D and 3D Component Builder.
